I spend a lot of time driving around Titusville and it has always amazed me that we have attractive stormwater ponds surrounded by a chain link fence and topped with barbed wire. Such is the case just west of U.S. 1 on the south side of Highway 50. I can just imagine what the area would look like if the fencing was taken down that parallels Hwy 50, and the area was shrubbed, some trees planted, and maybe some picnic tables, a mini park, a place to relax.
I went before Titusville City Council last month and suggested this idea, but it was met with no discussion and no further action. All the work could be done by volunteers, local garden clubs, or even use our ‘volunteer’ prison workers. Take a drive by this location and let me know if you agree with my ideas.

The people get drunk, and drive or swim in the retention ponds, die and their family’s sue. Who ever owned the retention pond would be responsible. Silly, but true. It is an insurance problem.
