Greg Harman has about five years experience working as a journalist at three different newspapers, including one daily newspaper in Fairmont, West Virginia and two years opening up the Melbourne office of Hometown News covering the city in features, politics and various other issues concerning Brevard County as a whole.
Greg grew up in Grafton, West Virginia, got a degree in political science from West Virginia University (WVU) and went to first year law school in Jackson, Mississippi.
Locally, Greg broke the "Spy Files" story in Melbourne in which law enforcement officials were monitoring anti-war protests. He also wrote stories on medical reports linking from mercury in vaccines and autism. Greg has also written ongoing series about corruption and other problems in county government.
Greg will try and write as often as he can about things that interest him, like art, religion, politics and anything else that he thinks will get folks talking. He tries to understand each side of a story and does his best to draw the main points out of an argument. Smooth waters are boring; Greg likes watching people sail through storms.
Greg grew up Methodist, but organized religion is not his bag at this point. He believes that when too many folks think God is telling them to do something different from each other, trouble won’t be far away.
